Restocking eels upstream of dams is very important. We need to continue to do that. Nounemaroc has been contributing annually to restocking since 2008.

Scientists have perfectly described our ambitions. The only way to get back into the adult eel stocks is to take the fry downstream in the estuaries to repopulate upstream of all the obstacles, so that the fry have a chance of establishing a good growth in fresh water, because in salt water their chance of survival is zero. This means that men’s arms are needed and that leaving elvers in brackish water is a management error in the effort to save eels.
